Institution Profile
The Munificent Mohamed Sathak Trust is a charitable body established in the year 1973 by the Philanthropic Chairman Mohamed Sathak Family. The Trust aims at providing Quality Education to all the people irrespective of religion, caste, creed language and region. The main objective of the trust is excellence in imparting Scientific Technological, Medical and Management Education. With this noble aim the Trust first started the Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic in the year 1980 at Kilakarai. Marhum Alhaj Ahamed Jalaludeen, the eldest brother in the family was the Founder. Encouraged and Enthused by the success of this venture another technological institution of Higher Learning Mohamed Sathak Engineering College was started in October 1984. The Engineering College unlike other colleges offers apart from all other branches of study, branches like Marine Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering courses. The students have brought laurels to the institution by securing ranks and international recognition by getting VINCENT BENDIX AWARD of USA. The college is approved by AICTE.
In 1991, the Mohamed Sathak Trust extended its educational efforts to Chennai and started Mohamed Sathak College of Arts and Science at Sholinganallur in the Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai. The college is affiliated to Madras University and is approved by AICTE.
In 1991, Mohamed Sathak Industrial Training Institute was established at Kilakarai. In 1997, to spread Computer Education in every nook and corner of the state and to assist the Government of Tamilnadu in its efforts to make the Tamilnadu as a haven of Information Technology, Sathak Institute of Information Technology (SITECH) was started. SITECH in collaboration with Madurai Kamaraj University and Alagappa University, Karaikudi is doing yeoman service in the spread and development of IT throughout the state. In 1997, the Mohamed Sathak Trust has established Mohamed A.J. College of Pharmacy at Sholinganallur, Chennai approved by Government of Tamilnadu and All India Council of Technical Education and affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. It offers Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy.
In the new millennium 2000, with the aim of spreading Arabic, Arts and Science and Management education, the Mohamed Sathak Trust approached the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Madurai Kamaraj University for establishing a college of Arts & Science, in Kilakarai, Ramnad District. The Government of Tamil Nadu accepted the proposal of the Mohamed Sathak Trust and granted permission for the establishment of a college in its G.O.MS No.214 dt.13.06.2000, under self financing scheme. The college is named after their mother and is called Syed Hameedha Arts & Science College. Now it is affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi.
